Last month, controversy ignited after one of the leading global warming advocacy centers in the U.K. had its e-mail system hacked into and private documents published online. The director of the University of East Anglia Climate Research Unit confirmed that the e-mails are, in fact, authentic.
It is rather odd that the story is not as highly publicized as a story of that magnitude should have been. The fact that any information was leaked, and that is exactly what it was, with regards to global warming opposition, and then suppressed by the media, shows where their loyalities lie. Is the media acting as a watchdog, or as a lapdog? As weeks pass by, I find it easier to believe that they are not watching anything.
The information in these emails is ‘smoking gun’ evidence of data manipulation among climatologists. This data was tweaked to support the widely held view that man is causing climate change. One of the most incriminating e-mails published comes from Dr. Jones. In the e-mail from just about ten years ago, Dr. Jones appears to discuss a method of overlaying data of temperature declines with repetitive, false data of higher temperatures, which, as the readers may have guessed, would skew the data in favor of global warming.
Dr. Jones told reporters that he couldn’t remember the context of the e-mail in which he wrote “hide the decline,” and that the process was a way to fill data gaps rather than mislead. But when scientists talk about “tricks” in the context of hiding data, it seems rather suspicious.
A partial review of the hacked material suggests there was an effort at East Anglia, which houses an important center of global climate research, to shut out dissenters and their points of view.
Andrew Bolt, a reporter for Australia’s Herald Sun, points to a couple of other suspicious entries in the database. For instance, scientists discussing how to delete inconvenient data in order to emphasize other data that supports their conclusions.
The e-mails include discussions of apparent efforts to make sure that reports from the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, a United Nations group that monitors climate science, include their own views and exclude others. Also, e-mails show that climate scientists declined to make their data available to scientists who they disagreed with.
Do scientists really use their collected data to test theories, or do they use their theories to test collected data? Scientists probably will not claim the latter, but here we have scientists who are so invested in the theory that they reject the data. That is not science; it is more like a whack-job cult wearing white coats and burning nay-sayers at the stakes.
Dr. Jones has confirmed that these e-mails are genuine. Whether or not the work established by these scientists is as genuine seems to be under serious investigation. Tim Blair says, “The fun is officially underway.”
Gee whiz America, I suppose this really is an “inconvenient truth,” huh? Polar bears are not in danger of drowning because they have no ice to live, float on. Species are not disappearing off the face of the earth because of a jump in temperature. Carbon dioxide is an essential nutrient for a plant’s growth, and not a posionous gas in our atmosphere that should be regulated. Companies do not actually care about helping the environment, going green means spending green and they hate that, it is just another fad.
