Fall is upon us everyone, which means it is time to break out the light jackets and get ready for fun fall times. You may think that the only thing to do here on campus is studying and partying, but that is far from the truth. There is so much around us, just a short bus or car ride away. It is just a matter of going and doing it.
When it gets to this time of year, the Halloween spirit hits full swing. Lucky for Millersville students, one of the best-haunted attractions lies right here in our area. Field of Screams gets a reputation for being one of the scariest horror themed entertainment places around; it was even on the Travel Channel. Hosting three equally terrifying attractions including a hayride, as well as their entertainment area, there is plenty to do during your visit.  Listen to the radio for upcoming events, or check out their website at Tickets range from thirteen to twenty-eight dollars depending on what you choose to do, but if you are down for a scare then this is the place to go!

Are you into the pumpkin carving tradition? Going on a hayride to a pumpkin patch could be a great way to spend a beautiful fall day. Check out the Cherry Crest Adventure farm for your pumpkin patch needs. Located about a half hour away, they offer many fun activities to have some fall related fun. Starting on September 22nd they will be starting their Harvest Festival, which goes until October 27th; this is one of their bigger events. It has many things to do, such as the pumpkin picking. The big Pumpkin Madness event comes on November 5th where demolishing the big orange orbs in creative ways is the specialty to go out and see; not to mention pumpkin flavored everything. If you are not into the haunted horrific Halloween activities, Cherry Crest Adventure Farm also offers a flashlight maze on some nights during the “harvest months” which you can check out for some non-scary fun. Football season comes around every fall and is viewed by thousands of loyal, crazy, screaming fans.

With the hockey season on the rocks, why not turn your attention to the fast approaching end of baseball season. See if your favorite team can pull off a post-season run; maybe even win it all! If baseball is not your thing try football, whether you follow the Eagles, Steelers, or maybe the Ravens; there is a team for everyone. It is never a bad idea to get some friends together and bust out the buffalo chicken dip while laying back to watch some Sunday night football. If you want to get into the school spirit, check out some of the Millersville teams and show your support. They are always happy to see full stands cheering them on to victory.
Homecoming weekend will be on the weekend of October 12th , and Millersville will be bursting with marauder pride. The annual parade themed, “That’s Entertainment,” will definitely not leave anyone disappointed. Fall Fling will be happening right afterwards, so invite the family up for a visit to enjoy all the great activities provided by the university.  Afterwards, head over to the stadium for some football action and cheer the team onto victory against Cheyney University.  If you still have not had enough of the fun, head over to the brand new Winter Visual and Performing Arts Center for “The Show” performed by Cirque-Tacular at 7:30 p.m. Enjoy not only the beautiful new building, but the show as well. Homecoming weekend offers a wide variety of events, and there is something for everyone. Check out what you can and support the school.
Fall really does include many things to do. With the changing leaves and temperature comes a change in the fun things to do. Put away the bathing suits and trade them in for the jackets. Instead of mango flavored everything try the pumpkin and apple flavored anything! Embrace the season’s changes and have some fun doing it.
