Q: What do you love most about the Winter Performing Arts Center (VPAC) on campus?
A: What I love most about the VPAC is that it houses two beautiful performing spaces, an art gallery, a recording studio and classrooms. It’s a chance for students to enhance what they are learning by seeing and participating in incredible performances on the stages in the same building.

Q: How would you describe your job in three words?
A: Creative, collaborative and entrepreneurial.

Q: How do you think the VPAC on campus enhances the arts overall?
A: I believe that the arts are an essential component to any learning environment, whether it is four-year universities, primary education or after school programs.  To have this building and the Ware Center as bookends where the arts are housed at Millersville is a huge gift. Both Centers bring the community, students, faculty and artists together to collaborate, share, inspire and create.

Q:  What has been the biggest transition from your previous position to your position at Millersville?
A: I’ve been a part of opening a performing arts building before, but the VPAC was a fun and new challenge because of the amount of technology in the building. For instance, we have a one-of-a-kind Yamaha Piano lab in our building that runs MIDI software, Protools – all of the industry standards in music technology. I am really excited about having the students in music, theatre and art working together at the VPAC in cross-disciplinary projects.
