Juggler Chris Ivey entertained the audience with his dazzling handy skills.

It was a happening good time following the parade at the Fall Fling, which was held at the Marauder Courts in the SMC.  The event was three hours of family fun from noon to 3 p.m.  It included many different activities including games, face painting, balloon artists, magic show and a photo booth.  Featured entertainment was juggler, Chris Ivey ‘01; trivia host, Mike Horn ’82 and live music by Duane Slaymaker.  A great addition to the Fling was the “Marauder Coloring Corner I.D. Your Child,” which was sponsored by Liberty Mutual Insurance.  There was also a book signing by University faculty, staff and retirees.

Insanity Factor put on a magic show and perfected the artistry of balloon crafting.

To curb everyone’s appetite after the parade, attendees could stop by the FoodFest outside the SMC parking lot.  Food vendors present at the event included J.R.’s Brisket and Gourmet Sandwiches, Asia Carry-Out at Root’s Market, Uncle Jerry’s Kettle Corn, Turkey Hill Mint Markets, Red Cheetah Smokehouse and Bricker’s Famous French Fries.  Some of the menu items to choose from included everything from french fries and grilled tuna sandwiches to wood-fired pizza!  Major sponsors of the event were the Millersville University Alumni Association and PSECU.
To accompany the entertainment, a few vendors were also present at the event.  The vendors present were the MU Student Ambassadors, the raffle of homecoming prizes run by Phi Sigma Pi National Honor Fraternity; MU’s UAB, which ran the face painting; Circle K, who hosted a “decorate a cupcake” ($1 donations for breast cancer); MU’s Catholic Campus Ministry, which had a bean bag toss; Habitat for Humanity and their rubber duck pool; S-PSEA, which hosted decorating of foam stars; the magic show and balloon artistry were both run by Insanity Factor and also MU Art and Design.

MU’s UAB helped make the Fall Fling more colorful with face painting.

The Fall Fling was a great way to pass the time after the parade until the kick-off of the Homecoming football game.  Make sure to check it out next year; it’s fun for everyone.
