Liz Wagner showed her skills against Georgian Court, defeating all of her opponents.

Coming off of a hard defeat against DI Goldey-Beacom, the Millersville women’s tennis team desired a turnaround, and their last match against Georgian Court was the perfect chance to get it. As the match got underway, the weather was crisp and a bit chilly at times with a steady breeze blowing through the courts.
The doubles got started with complete dominance being shown by Millersville. Melissa Plowman and Kelsey Waite won their set 8-4 starting out a bit slow but coming together well and playing great team tennis. Liz Wagner and Ale Heller won their set 8-2 with Liz crushing forehand winners, and Ale punishing the other team for allowing anything to come near her at the net. Jess Taleff and Maggie Karr won easily 8-1 with great, consistent play that allowed for their opponents to make the mistakes.
Singles play for Millersville also went well with the team only dropping two matches on the day.
Maggie Karr was first off of the courts for MU winning efficiently and expediently 6-0 6-2. Ale followed soon after, winning 6-3 6-2, and although Liz had a very close first set, she won as well with a score of 7-6 6-2. Jess Taleff was the last on the courts for Millersville and with the whole team watching, she delivered, winning in dramatic fashion in a third-set tiebreaker.
This was a good win for the Millersville’s women’s team because it was against a very solid team. The team looks forward to having more performances like this one in the future. This match also marked the end of the men’s and women’s fall seasons.
Both teams had good fall seasons and both are capable of doing some great things. Come springtime, Millersville tennis will look to do some damage and really leave their mark in the PSAC’s.
