The Millersville women’s indoor track and field team competed in the Susquehanna Invitational at Susquehanna University on Friday. The girls performed really well, setting new records and capturing several first place finishes. Mary Stewart won first place in the long jump with a distance of 5.09 meters, and qualified for the event at the PSAC Championships. She also competed in the triple jump against her teammate Jessica Fritsche, where she placed eighth with a distance of 9.91 meters. Fritsche fared much better in the event, placing third with a jump of 10.36 meters which qualified her for the event at the PSAC Championships. Millersville’s 4×200 meter relay team Kiara Allen, Erin Mason, Erin Madison and Kayla Naughton finished first in the event with a time of 1:46.69, a new school record. Then in the 4×400 meter relay, the team of Madison, Mason, Naughton and Megan Meyer took first place with a time of 4:02.38, which was also a team best. Madison also participated in the 60 meter high hurdles and finished with a time of 9.48 putting her in sixth place. Meyer competed in the 800 meter run where she finished with a time of 2:23.43 and placed ninth in the event. Other notable finishes include Amanda Long who also competed in the 800 meter run and with a time of 2:24.50 finished in eleventh place. In addition, Sarah Fink recorded a time of 19:24.63 in the 5,000 meter run where she placed seventh in the race. Next up for the Lady Marauders is the PSAC Championships, scheduled to take place February 22-24 in Edinboro.
