The women’s indoor track and field team traveled to Edinboro University last weekend for the PSAC Championships. The girls placed 10th overall out of 13 with a team score of 27. Notable finishes include a fourth place showing in the 4×800 meter relay by Megan Meyer, Amanda Long, Elizabeth Reese and Kayla Naughton with a time of 9:48.44. Also the team of Erin Madison, Meyer, Mason and Naughton finished fourth with a time of 4:00.21 in the 4×400 meter relay, the second best time in school history. In the 5,000 meter run, Sarah Mulvey placed 13th in the event with a time of 18:29.24. She also competed in the 3,000 meter run, along with Reese where they finished 21st in 10:34.93 and 30th in 10:53.31 respectively. Long and Meyer also ran in the 800 meter run where they placed 14th and 17th respectively, with times of 2:23.85 and 2:25.45. In the 400 meter dash Madison crossed the finish line in second place in 58.41, while Naughton had a time of 58.58 and placed sixth. Kiara Allen competed in the 60 meter dash where she recorded a time of 7.91 and finished in sixth place. Mason also participated in the 200 meter dash and crossed the finish line in 25.88, her best time of the season, in seventh place. In the distance medley the team of Long, Meyer, Sarah Fink and Reese finished in 8th place with a time of 12:52.34. In the long jump, Mary Stewart recorded a distance of 4.76m and placed 17th in the event. Jessica Fritsche took part in the triple jump where she placed 14th with a distance of 10.00m. Then in the weight throw 20lbs Nicole Sokira and Ann Kovacs finished 15th and 16th respectively with distances of 12.97 and 12.79.
