On March 3, 2013 an adult female who lives off campus reported that she was the victim of an indecent assault in the area of Ann St. and Mary St. in Millersville Borough. The assault occurred around 2:30 a.m. March 3rd and was reported to the MBPD later that morning.
The female who was assaulted reported the following to the MBPD: At approximately 2:30 a.m. that morning, she was walking by herself in the area of Ann St. and Mary St. when she observed three 18 – 22 year old males, who were of dark complexion, in the same area, and one called to her. The female related that as she turned to walk away, one of the males grabbed her from behind around the chest, and she was pulled toward the ground. She also related that her pants were forcefully pulled down and she was touched on her buttocks area by one of the males. At this time, the female struck the male and fled from the alleyway to her apartment, and later contacted the police. The female related that one of the male’s shirt may have been purple, another was gray and the third was a white shirt.
Currently, this reported incident is being investigated by Millersville Borough Police Department, Sgt. Detective Jeffery Margevich. The campus community is reminded to take safety precautions such as walking with friends or other students, walking in well lit areas and highly traveled areas, securing all personal items while walking and reporting all suspicious persons and activity to police. The MUPD provides a safety escort from 11pm-7am and can be contacted at 717-872-3433, students are urged to utilize this service.
