Olear finished in first place among her three peers.

The lucky number at this weekend’s inaugural Millersville Invitational, held at the Crossgates Golf Course, was 93, with three of the Marauders shooting it to tie for the lead. Millersville’s Kendal Olear, Amber Rohrer, and Jaimie Wharton all entered the last hole tied for first place out of 23 competitors. A winner was determined by who out of the three ended up with the best score on the 12th hole. Olear’s par on the twelfth earned her the top spot as both Rohrer and Wharton had bogeyed the hole. It was not an easy win, with Olear having to come from behind to claim the number one spot from Rohrer. For nine holes, she was four shots behind Rohrer who was in first with a score of 45. Olear turned things around on the back nine where she had all facets of her game working, and shot a 44 to pull into a tie for the lead. Rohrer, shot a 48 through the back nine, giving her a 93 and a share of the lead. Wharton shot a 47 through the first nine holes, where she had successfully birdied the two par threes and shot a 46 through the back nine. The win at the Millersville Invitational marks Olear’s first victory in an event this season. Entering the tournament, Olear’s best showing was a third place finish back in September at the Pocono Intercollegiate Invitational. Millersville did not compete in the team competition where East Stroudsburg captured the title with a score of 398. The Lady Marauders have a week off before they travel to Kutztown to compete in the Kutztown Invitation on April 6th.
