Senate Recorder

Last Thursday in Student Senate the big topic or point of discussion was Governor Corbett coming to speak at this year’s commencement. The Senate’s possible action plan moving forward is to hold a public forum with the goal of allowing for good discussion amongst students about this issue. The date will be announced if Senate decides that this is the best route to take. Also last meeting, Emmanuel Jean-Phillip was inducted into the Student Senate, the Student Veterans Association was granted permanent club status, and the Student Senate’s agenda has now been changed so that motions will come before new business occurs during meetings. The Student Senate talked about how they will be having an event called Snap Shout on Monday April 15th from 12-2 for Silencing the Hate, and about how there is a possibility for Senate to get an “activities period” started for all students. Lastly, it was noted that there is still no clear-cut football coach in mind, so the search continues, and the Millersville lacrosse team is now selling bracelets for the Seton Hill women’s lacrosse team.
