Despite the losses, the Lady Marauders still hold an impressive 23-13 overall record.

This past Saturday, on their home turf, the Millersville softball team played a doubleheader against Mansfield, who dealt Millersville two loses, 6-1 and 4-1, dropping their overall record to 23-13.
In game one Mansfield put two runs on the board in the top of the first inning. The Marauders were able to get a run in the bottom of the second when Cara Nance hit a double to send Jamie Motsko home.
After that the Marauders only managed five hits the rest of the game. That’s when Mansfield took the chance to increase their lead. In the third inning, Courtney Bauder hit a shot over left centerfield fence, advancing their lead 3-1.
In the sixth inning, Mansfield’s Kate Pratt hit a two-run double. The Mountaineers added one more run to that inning, which was the final run scored in the game by either team. Mansfield starter Caitlin Klobosits only allowed the Marauders one run on six hits and one walk, striking out nine people.
In game two, Millersville’s sophomore pitcher Sarah Bertoni started, hoping to get her 13th win of the season. She was unable to get the win, but she only allowed 7 hits.
Offensively Millersville only got two hits and one run. The run happened in the bottom of the third inning when Danielle DiFilippo, who had both hits of the game, hit a single sending Ginely Ortiz-Marrero home, allowing the Marauders the lead for the first time all day.
When Mansfield was up to bat, Pratt hit a ball over the wall tying the game at one, which the score remained at for the rest of the game, causing the game to go into extra innings.
The Mountaineers were at bat first, taking the lead on a two-run single from Megan Miller. With one out left, Danielle Long was up to bat, hitting an RBI single to send Miller home to score the final run of the game.
Millersville was unable to come back in the bottom half of the eighth, resulting in their fourth consecutive loss. This is the ladies first four-game losing streak of the season.
