Sarah Bertoni received her eighth shutout of the season with the win in game one.

Millersville’s softball team traveled to Kutztown for a doubleheader in the hopes of keeping their winning streak going, but came up short, defeating Kutztown 1-0 in the first game, but losing 5-2 in the second.
Sophomore pitcher Sarah Bertoni clinched her eighth shutout of the season; she is now tied for PSAC lead. This was also her 14th win of the season, overall she stands at 14-7, setting a new record for wins in one season from a single pitcher. Bertoni only allowed four hits and one walk.
Falling short in the first six innings, Millersville was able to get the only run of the game in the top of the seventh. Second baseman Danielle DiFilippo hit an RBI to send Sarah Bertoni home, for the game winning run.
When it came time for game two the Marauders were not as lucky. Jordan Sheffield and Bertoni each tallied a run during game two. Defensively the Marauders could not stop the Golden Bears, who tallied five runs during the game.
The Golden Bears took the lead in the third inning, making the score 4-1, and were able to keep for the rest of the game. Millersville scored their final run of the game in the fourth inning. Sheffield and Gabbie Berry had two hits each offensively for the Marauders. During game two Millersville managed eight hits off Kutztown’s Mary Kociencki.
After this double header, Millersville’s record now stands at 26-16 overall, 4-8 PSAC East. The ladies will be traveling to Shippensburg to take on the Raiders in their next doubleheader. Game time is set for Friday at 2:30 p.m.
