A long standing tradition continues here at Millersville University. The 55th annual Honors and Awards Convocation acknowledges and celebrates the achievements of the undergraduate students, alumni and programs. Undergraduates are recognized for their academic achievements, service involvement and athletic achievements during the convocation ceremony. The event will commence at 10 a.m. on Saturday, May 4th and will be held in the Marauder Court in the Student Memorial Center.
Four major awards will be presented by the Millersville University Alumni Association, these awards will recognize current Millersville students examples of exemplary achievements. The awards include the Distinguished Alumni Award, Honorary Alumni Award, Outstanding Volunteer Service Award and the Young Alumni Achievement Award.
Preceding this event will be a meet and greet with the donors of the scholarships and awards. It will be held in the Robert L. Slabinski Atrium, which is located within close proximity to the SMC Information Desk and the MPR is the Atrium lounge. There will be a sign-in for this event, only students who have been bestowed with an award(s) and their guests will be able to attend the meet and greet.
An award is given as a cash grant or gift made directly to a student or a mention on a University plaque in recognition of the student’s achievements. For more information on any of the awards given, contact the Honors and Awards Committee through the Office of Special Events.
Following the convocation ceremony, a reception will be held for all the award holders and their guests. The Honors and Awards Convocation ceremony is a great way for the university to recognize the talents and achievements of its’ students. Congratulations to all the award recipients.
