Are you a student that is conscious of your body’s health inside and out? College drains time, but that should not keep you from reducing early signs of aging and developing good health. So when is the best time to start prevention? This article will guide you through three key items that will bring you one step closer to feeling your best.

Vitamins are a healthy way to replace lacking nutrients.
Vitamins are a healthy way to replace lacking nutrients.

The first item is a supplement that every student should consider adding to his or her lifestyle if it is not already. Multivitamins do more good for your body than you think, especially for college students; since your days may revolve around the same foods, your body is reduced to a limited source of vitamins, minerals and other nutrients.
Let’s face it; it is almost impossible for each student to consume every item and the correct amount listed on the notorious Food Guide Pyramid. That is where a multivitamin comes in handy. It supplements for every mineral and vitamin you do not naturally eat. There are various multivitamins out there that target specific needs such as joint support for athletes, additional vitamin D for females or additional iron for those deficient in it. There is bound to be one that fits you. The second item, another supplement is Omega-3 fatty acids are a group of “good” fats that are vital for your body’s function. This group consists of DHA (Docosahexaenoic acid), EPA (Elcosapentaenoic acid) and ALA (Alpha-Iinolenic acid). Even though these three fats are grouped together, they are not the same.
DHA supports healthy brain, eye and heart development and function. It is naturally in breast milk and is found in every cell in the human body. EPA supports overall health, however, your body does not store EPA in sufficient quantities like DHA. ALA is a source of energy and is used as a building block for DHA and EPA. Brain function is a precious entity to students, so it is important to ingest fish oil that contains all three of these fats for best results.

The last item is a product that helps fight aging. Despite your age, everyone benefits from sunscreen. Even on cloudy days, the sun’s harmful rays penetrate through clouds and are able to damage your skin. The main cause of wrinkles is not due to old age; exposure to harmful UV and UVA light accounts for about 90 percent of symptoms of premature aging.
The best kind of anti-aging product should contain sunscreen for daywear. It is advised to reapply a product with sunscreen throughout the day since sweat and other factors cause it to wear off. To be safe, make sure to reapply sunscreen every one to two hours. Also make certain that your product is not past the expiration date.
Many anti-aging products contain collagen. Our body produces collagen naturally, which gives your skin that youthful elasticity, but it decreases with age, and sunlight breaks down collagen at a faster rate compared to just chronologic aging. Some products contain Vitamin C, which helps to strengthen your skin against damage and can improve the appearance of already damaged skin. Retinol is another common ingredient in products. It is a compound of vitamin A, which promotes collagen production. These are microscopic examples of a widespread list of ingredients that aid in anti-aging. If you are already in your 20s, consider adding an anti-aging product in your regime, especially sunscreen.
The hectic lifestyle of the average college student can create bad health habits that many students cannot help but fall into. Adding these three items to your daily routine can help reduce health issues and premature aging. If you are considering adding any supplements to your diet, seek advice from a medical expert first.
