In its final meet of the regular season, the Millersville women’s cross country team put on an impressive show for all who attended in what was likely their best showing of the season.
The women traveled to Gettysburg on Saturday to compete against 26 other schools in the Gettysburg Invitational, finishing in fifth place. Freshman Shannon Cruz placed 13th among the 276 eligible runners in the 6k, crossing the finish line with an impressive time of 23:25.7, just under two minutes behind top finisher Kelsey Patrick of Lebanon Valley. Cruz has been the top finisher for the Marauders in each of their five contests this year.
The Marauders next best finisher was junior Megan Meyer, who came in 30th in the race, two spots ahead of sophomore Amanda Long, and four ahead of freshman Abigail Daley. Millersville sophomore Elizabeth Reese also put on a good show, finishing in 52nd place overall.
The next action for the Marauder women will come on Satruday, Oct. 26 in Kutztown for the PSAC Championship.
