The Millersville men’s and women’s golf teams competed at the PSAC Championships on Saturday and Sunday. Both teams traveled to Hershey, PA, where the men played at Hershey Links, while the women went to the Hershey Country Club.
It was an amazing weekend for the men’s team which, after two stellar rounds of golf, took home first place in the event. The team was led by junior Conor Gilbert, who shot a 72 on the competition’s opening day. Gilbert followed that up with a 71 in the second round of play giving him a score of 143 for the tournament.
Close behind Gilbert was sophomore Rob Rowe, who was on fire during the first round, shooting a 70. Rowe delivered a solid second round performance in which he shot a 75, giving him a total score of 145.

Senior Jon Heile finished the event in 11th place with a total score of 151. He fired a 75 in the opening round and a 76 in the final round.
Robert Coyne completed the first day with a 76 and finished the second frame with a 78 for a total score of 154. He finished the tournament tied for 21st place. Kevin Davis finished tied for 32nd with first and second round scores of 80 and 78 respectively.
The Marauders had a combined team score of 593, while California University of Pennsylvania finished second, with 595 points. Two teams tied for third place with 597 points: Indiana University of Pennsylvania and West Chester University.
The Lady Marauders did not fare as well in their competition, finishing tied for seventh place with a combined score of 717. The girls were led by Jamie Wharton, who shot an 83 on the opening and closing days of the competition for a total score of 166. She finished the tournament tied for 13th place.
Amber Rohrer completed the opening day of the tournament with an 87. She went on to shoot an 86 on the final day for a total score of 173 and finished tied for 23rd. Danielle Freed shot an opening round 96, but rebounded during the second round to shoot an 87. She completed the tournament with a total score of 183, in a tie for 35th place.
Kendal Olear struggled both days, shooting a 100 for the first round and a 95 for the second. She placed 40th overall, with teammate Cara Geiger right behind her in 41st with first and second round scores of 128 and 119 respectively.
Gannon University won the PSAC Championships with a team score of 648, California University of PA placed second with 650 and Kutztown University finished third with 659. The lowest individual score of the championship, a 154, belonged to Morgan Miller of Seton Hill University.
