Born in Royersford, Pa., Steve DiGuiseppe is one man that Millersville University could not continue to run without. DiGuiseppe is the Assistant Vice President for Advancement and has recently taken the role again of the Interim Director of Alumni Engagement. As the Assistant VP for Advancement, he actively writes grants for the Lancaster Partnership Program, which is designed to help Lancaster’s socioeconomically-disadvantaged students successfully pursue a college career. He also advises Student Senate, serves as a Major Gifts Officer and serves as the Chairman of the Millersville Community Parade which occurs each fall in Millersville with over 2,000 participants. DiGuiseppe has worked at Millersville for 23 years and has had only a handful of jobs since he started in 1991.

At 54-years-old, he is a well-versed alumnus. He graduated MU in 1982 with a B.S.Ed. degree in Elementary Education. While a student at MU, DiGuiseppe was the Vice-President of Student Senate, a Resident Hall Assistant, part of the Phi Sigma Pi National Honor Fraternity, the editor for the university’s yearbook Touchstone and worked part-time for 4 years at the Sugar Bowl.

DiGuiseppe likes to play competitive trivia at least twice a week with MU alumni, faculty, staff, retirees and friends, which he has been doing for over 15 years. He has also traveled to 46 countries, and has sailed on 24 cruises. He says that his is my all-time favorite destination is Italy.

DiGuiseppe’s favorite part about working at MU is the diversity of tasks that he’s had during his tenure. From planning and executing a parade, a concert or even a Millersville Idol competition, to traveling abroad or to dozens of Broadway shows, to hosting alumni events across the globe. No two days are ever the same for him.

Something most people don’t know about DiGuiseppe is that he dresses up every Halloween with a group of friends, normally having a theme. He has dressed up as a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle, Pantomime, the musical group Kiss, Uncle Fester from the Addams Family, the Swedish Chef from the Muppets, Penguin from Batman, Gilligan from Gilligan’s Island and Hagrid from Harry Potter, just to name a few.

Along with DiGuiseppe, his brother, sister-in-law and niece are all MU grads. Some people have gone as far to say that DiGuiseppe is Mr. Millersville. He loves MU and attributes the beginning of his love to when his brother first came here over 40 years ago.
