Glow dome party was a free event sponsored by the University Activities Board as a part of homecoming festivities. It took place Thursday, Oct. 16 from 8 p.m. to 12 a.m. at McCollugh street between Hash and Health Services.
Glow-in-the-dark glasses, necklaces and mouth pieces were provided. Students danced under a large tent while a DJ IMGQ played music. SOLA had suggested the DJ to hire.
The idea for the event came from the National Association for Campus Activities conference UAB members attended last year. UAB president, Sabrina Hawke wanted to bring the glow dome party to Millersville, on a smaller scale.
Special Events co-chairs Cristal Morales and Kayleen Spencer put the idea into fruition.
Around 200 students were in attendance. Spencer and Morales said there were fewer attendees than expected. They suspected that it was due to the rain, minimal advertising and date changes.
Despite setbacks, the glow dome party was seen as a success. “I think it went well. It was well-received,” Spencer said.
