Millersville mens soccer found themselves on the unfortunate end of a 2-0 loss versus West Chester over the weekend. Millersville (4-9-1, 3-4-0 PSAC) continues to find road wins hard to come by, with the team dropping all of its road contests so far this season.
Golden Rams forward Tommy Ryan seemed to be the Marauders Achilles heel, scoring both of the team’s goals for the match. After 28 minutes of solid defensive play by both teams, Ryan carried the ball from end-to-end, then struck a beautiful left-footed shot that traveled right by Millersville goalie Kohl Orner’s head.
The goal was enough to give West Chester the advantage heading into halftime.
After the break, both teams seemed to come out with extra intensity. So much so, that each team picked up two yellow cards, proving the bad blood between the two PSAC conference foes.
MensSoccerScoreHowever, in the 83rd minute, Tommy Ryan found a way to silence the Marauders by adding West Chester’s final goal and put a cap on the game. After the final whistle sounded, team statistics showed the shot comparison at 14-7 in favor of the Golden Rams.
One of the Marauders shots was just inches short, after Junior midfielder Jaime Vazquez chipped a free kick which unfortunately flew over the crossbar.
