With events such as First Friday, LAUNCH Music Conference and various attractions at the Ware Center, Lancaster has long embraced music as a form of entertainment, art and expression. Music For Everyone is a Lancaster-based non-profit charitable o

rganization dedicated to cultivating the power of music as an educational and community-building tool. It will be hosting Creating for a Cause, a crowd-funded creativity concert where the audience will have the opportunity to involve themselves in the creative process of music.

The artists performing are Kid Cousin, Attic Space and Harpoon.

Kid Cousin is a folk band made up of Millersville University students and graduates.
Kid Cousin is a folk band made up of Millersville University students and graduates.

Kid Cousin is a progressive folk rock band that consists of four Millersville University students dedicated to writing and performing original music while shrugging off the limitations of genre constructs. Since 2011, Kid Cousin has bloomed into a musical endeavor capable of capturing the hearts of fans craving a pure musical experience – one of creativity, passion and family. The founders Jeff Grey and AJ Ortiz write songs layered with a creative passion for storytelling and the hauntings of the human soul.

Attic Space is the moniker for Seven Valleys native Mike Klahold, whose instruments of choice are synthesizers, loop pedals and guitar. His music fosters the visceral need to dance and dream in tandem.

Harpoon is an astral projection of psychedelic rock that pulls listeners in with whimsical

lyrics, ambient pop sensations and downright strong songwriting. Band members include singer/guitar player Colin Fry, writer/lead guitar player Mark Marafioti, bass player/singer Kyle Hiltz and drummer Jordan Pinkerton. Harpoon’s influences include a variety of jazz and indie genres.

This concert will take play on Tuesday, Nov. 18, from 6-9 p.m. at Tellus360 on 24 East King Street in Lancaster, Pa. Entry is by donation with a suggested donation rate of $10. For a donation of $100 to Music For Everyone, audience members can have a band write and perform a song for them at the event. The lyrical content of the crowd-funded songs will reflect a theme or topic chosen by the donor.

Donations and song topic submissions will be accepted until the day of the event. However, because songwriting takes a considerable amount of time and creative energy, only six crowd-funded songs will be performed at the event. Any remaining song requests will be recorded by one of the artists performing at the event and will be sent to the donor.

Donations and song topic requests should be sent to:
