Before coming to Millersville she taught at Xavier University in Cincinnati, Ohio; Towson University in Maryland; and before that she was the student media advisor at Santa Clara University in California. She has been developing her teaching career since 1990 with experience from several other higher education institutions. She came to MU because she wanted to get back to the East Coast. She chose MU specifically because she enjoyed the curriculum and thought it was best suited for her. Her favorite course to teach here is Public Relations Writing. Dr. Wood’s favorite thing about working at MU is being able to grow and engage with the students. She has been nominated twice for the Educator of the Year Award.
When being interviewed, Dr. Wood could not think of just one thing that she loves most to do. At the top of the list is she enjoys traveling and in the United States she has been to all but five states. She also enjoys reading, and studying “success.” Interestingly enough, something that most people don’t know about Dr. Wood is that she was born with an extra finger. It was removed of course!
When she retires, Dr. Wood would like to live in San Diego and start a foundation to help students pay for various forms of education because education is an important asset of any life journey.
