The Millersville women’s softball team failed to score a run on Monday afternoon as they dropped two straight to Bloomsburg. They lost the first by a score of 7-0 and then 3-0 in the next game.

In the first game, the Bloomsburg Huskies scored three runs in the first inning and then added two more in the second inning to gain an early 5-0 advantage. This proved to be a very short game for freshman pitcher Cassidy Pinchorski as she lasted just an inning and a third before being pulled out.

Game two of this series was a little more competitive as it remained scoreless through the first five innings before Bloomsburg finally broke through in the sixth inning and finished the Marauders off in the seventh inning. Junior pitcher Brianna Andraos pitched a very good game until the late game breakthrough by the Huskies. Andraos ended up going seven innings and gave up three runs along with eight hits in game two against the Huskies.

In game one of the series, Millersville managed only two hits the entire game, one by Danielle DeFilippo and the other by Megan Hallock while Bloomsburg produced 11 hits. A major positive for the Marauders is that relief pitcher Stephanie Kulp performed well relieving starter Cassidy Pinchorski after her rough outing.

With the two straight losses, Millersville now sits at 12-15 overall with a 4-8 record in the PSAC. Next up on the calendar is another doubleheader but this time against Kutztown and it will not be on their home field. First pitch in the doubleheader is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
