Students from the club Marauder Music Productions joined together to share their Spring Showcase music and songs from their recently completed CD. Sharing both original compositions and covers of music, the students spent the semester working on the recording, mixing, mastering and plans for distribution of the CD, entitled “Marauder Music Production Spring Compilation V: Original Tracks from the Ville’.”

Though being part of the club is a requirement for Music Business Majors, the opportunity to join MMP is open to all students.

“Many of our bands have non-music major members and much of the work we do involves graphic design, media relations, public relations and technology so many of our members have a diverse background and skill set, but choose to work with musicians and artists,” said club president Joseph Migliore.

The MMP will be releasing their CD in both digital and physical format, offering free copies to the public at Superfest, but will cost $5 otherwise to serve as a fundraiser for the club. Links for download will be available through the club’s GetInvolved site, their Facebook page and the Music Department’s web site. Their office, located within the Winter Center, will also house copies which can be purchased at future performances.
Taking on the role of club president for the first time this year, Migliore has also been the club’s secretary and fundraising chair. Taking an interest in music, he has performed in ACMO’s Aida in the pit, as well as taking part in the MU Jazz band when taking a break from his role as a peer mentor.
Migliore recounted how the club has impacted both himself and others.

“Hosting shows and bringing great music to an audience is my passion,” said Migliore. “We bring great live music to students from their peers and members of our club. We provide our artists with a chance to play out on a regular basis to the campus community and we give Millersville a unique roster of artists that help give Millersville character.”

Noting that the club members perform both locally and faraway, MMP desires to and succeeds in building up the name of Millersville University and themselves through their talents. During the showcase, the bands who played can be found on the CD include Hemlock Street, Jackie Haynes, Michaela & Nick, B-Roll, Blondes with Glasses and Wait for It. Original music and covers were shared by the artists and student composers Jackie Hynes and Zachary Terrazas shared a song which is part of a musical made by Millersville students and awaiting its near-public release.

MMP give students a chance to gain experience “through performance experience…tech and lighting for shows, show promotion, organization, logistics, financial accounting, studio recording and leadership,” said Migliore.

While awaiting next year’s annual CD release, this year’s copies are available this week at Superfest and students can look forward to club events such as their monthly performances and their Halloween party next fall. Marauder Music Productions gave a great team performance and is eager to share their efforts of the spring semester with the public.
