Former president Bill Clinton stopped by the Prince Street Cafe to shake hands two days before voters in Pennsylvania will go the polls to vote in the Democratic Party primary.

Clinton’s visit was a surprise and he took the time to shake hands with everyone in the restaurant, as well as snap a few pictures. MU senior Kelsey Bundra happened to be walking around Lancaster City with her friends when the former president arrived.

“As we were walking down Prince Street, we saw a commotion outside of the Prince Street Cafe,” Bundra said. “I asked a woman what was going on and she said Bill Clinton was inside.”

According to WGAL, Clinton told visitors why his wife should be president and made comments about how she would help the economy. Bundra said that she and her friends could not hear him.

“It was quite crowded and he was speaking to reporters,” she said. “We were told if we sat down at a table, he would speak to us.”

After talking to all of the visitors inside, Clinton talked with a few of the many people standing outside on the sidewalk on the way to his car.

Bill Clinton was in Wynnewood, Pa. before stopping in Lancaster. He will be in New Haven, Connecticut tomorrow. The primaries for Pennsylvania, Connecticut, Rhode Island, Maryland and Delaware this Tuesday, April 26.
