Be prepared. The time is growing near. Fall is coming. With fall come Halloween. The holiday that brings with it candy, fun, students get to run around dressed up like anything they want, pumpkin spice everything hits the store and of course candy.

Who does not love pumpkin spice? On a trip to Giant you cannot walk down the isles without seeing something with pumpkin flavor in it. And, no one can forget pumpkin spice latte. It is almost time to see students lining up at the Starbucks in the library waiting to order this popular drink, the drink people wait all year for. Candles everywhere smell like this delightful fragrance. Hershey has even started selling their pumpkin spice Hershey Kisses. However, if you do not like pumpkin spice, apple cider is a great alternative.

Now, costume shopping is always fun. Maybe there is a costume party, maybe one of your professor has agreed to give you extra credit if you show up to class wearing a costume, or maybe you just like to dress up as something else for the day. Whatever it is, finding a costume or making it from scratch, especially if you are doing it with friends is a fun experience. You can make it a fun day. Go to Michael’s, check out the Mall, and maybe check to see if Walmart or Target have anything. The trick is to start looking early because if you wait, the stores get crowded and it is almost impossible to find what you want.

Unfortunately, college students are too old to go trick or treating. That does not mean you cannot try, but there is very little chance people will actually give you candy. But there is still a way to get a lot of candy. Wait until the day after Halloween and all the candy will be on sale. If Halloween is no longer in the future, stores have no reason to have Halloween candy around, so they will try to get rid of it as quickly as possible, and that means all the candy goes on sale. This way you can stock up on all of the candy you could not get from trick-or-treating.

Do not forget, Halloween is a time for fun. There are different events that go on all around. You can find a corn maze to wonder through and try not to get lost. There are also lot of haunted house like attractions, like Field of Screams and Jason’s Woods. Hershey Park is also open for Hershey Park in the Dark, so you could go and ride roller coasters. Also, though it is only open until October 25, the Renaissance fair is a great place to go and have fun and live in a different world for a little while.

With costume parties, haunted houses, movies on Netflix, candy, pumpkin spice, and even apple cider, there is a lot of things to do on Halloween. It is a time to celebrate, grab some candy and have fun. Just make sure to stay safe.
