As Week 5 of the College Football season is approaching, this will be the most important week
of the season so far. With three games this weekend including matchups with top ten ranked
teams. One of the biggest matchup this weekend is between the number three ranked Louisville
Cardinals lead by Heisman candidate Lamar Jackson heads into Clemson to play the number five
Clemson Tigers. This game will be entertaining from the quarterback position as Lamar Jackson
who is the Leading Candidate right now to win the Heisman has 526 yards rushing the football
with 12 touchdowns as well. Deshaun Watson also is favorite to win Heisman he has thrown for
966 yards passing the football and 9 touchdowns. This is huge game for the Playoffs because one
lose could knock you out but a win for one of these teams could put you into the number two
ranked team in the country behind Alabama. Louisville big win of the year came against Florida
State when they rolled to a 63 to 20 win with Jackson rushing for 4 touchdowns against a tough
Florida State defense. Another big game this weekend is between the number eight ranked
Wisconsin Badgers against the number four ranked Michigan Wolverines. Wisconsin is trying to
go two for two in the state of Michigan in back to back weeks after cruising to a 30 to 6 win over
Michigan State last week. This will be the first big test for Michigan as they have won big over
teams like Penn State and Colorado. A big advantage for Michigan is the home field advantage
playing in The Big House where they are undefeated there this season and with this as their fifth
straight home game. If Wisconsin is going to win this game they must stop Michigan’s offense as
they have put up an average of 52 points per game. The other game this weekend is between the
number seven ranked Stanford Cardinal and the number ten ranked Washington Huskies on
Friday night. Stanford as been rolling along thanks to their Heisman candidate running back
Christian McCaffrey. Stanford wins this season has been quality opponents like Kansas State,
USC, and UCLA with McCaffrey having 436 yards running the ball and three touchdowns. For
Washington they have had some easier games but last week they were able to get by a tough
Arizona team on the road in overtime. They will have a huge advantage playing in front of their
home crowd and if their defense can stop McCaffrey they will have a great chance to win the
game. The College Football Playoff poll doesn’t come out till November third so the teams are
ranked by the AP poll with Alabama leading, Ohio State second, Louisville third, and Michigan
four. There is plenty of season left to play and I am sure their will be plenty of changes to the
rankings, but in my opinion those four teams are the best in the country right now but we will see
if they still are after week 5.
