The Millersville women’s volleyball team had an unfortunate weekend, falling to both Gannon and Mercyhurst on the road. On Friday, the Marauders opposed Gannon with the result being a loss, 3 sets to 1. Ville started off strong and was able to beat Gannon in the first set, 25-21.

The second set was decided by the same score, this time with Gannon coming out on top. Unfortunately for Millersville, the next two sets did not end with close scores. In the third set, Gannon dominated as they won 25-9. The fourth set saw Gannon secure the victory with a 25-15 win.

Despite the outcome, the Marauders had 40 kills and 5 aces. Freshmen Katie Laughman from Delone Catholic had a career-high 23 digs.

Saturday at Mercyhurst was another arduous match for Millersville as they lost 3-0. Despite losing all three sets, the match could have gone either way. The first set was decided by a 25-18 score. Mercyhurst was able to Put Away the Marauders with the final two sets ending in 25-22 and 25-21 finals. Millersville had 29 kills and 17 errors in the match.

The Marauders scored the first point in each set, but were never able to keep up the momentum to win. Millersville ended the match with 17 Mercyhurst only had 3 fewer errors with 14. The pair of losses drop Millersville to 2-8 on the season with an 0-2 record in the PSAC conference.
