Tottenham vs Manchester City 2-0
Tottenham crushed the Manchester giants thanks to another set of dazzling displays by Heung-Min Son and Dele Alli. The two terrorized the backline of Manchester City all day causing all sorts of chaos for the Sky Blue.
Being played out of position also didn’t faze the South Korean. Son was able to maneuver his way and make runs in behind the line and hold up play for his supporting cast to get into the action.
Aleksandar Kolarov put one into the back of his net in the 9th minute after a
Danny Rose cross. The Serb mistimed his poke and instead of clearing the ball, he put one past his own keeper Claudio Bravo.
Then in the 37th minute, Son was able to thread a pass to ever flowing Dele Alli which he cooly tucked into the back of the net.
The Belgian center-back partnership of Vertonghen and Alderweireld was able to pocket up the deadly attack of Manchester City with neither Aguero or Sterling ever getting phased into the game.
The loss of Kevin De Bruyne was seen in this game; without the playmaker being able to pull the strings in the midfield, the orchestra that is Manchester City wasn’t able to play at correct the tune as a collective unit.
With the Belgian set to miss another 2-3 weeks, can City retain their one point lead in the table from the scorching hot Hotspurs?
Liverpool-Swansea City 2-1
Jurgen Kloop certainly isn’t one to shy away from drama. With his team falling behind in the 8th minute thanks to a Leroy Fer poach after a corner, Liverpool would have to claw their way back into the game.
With the merseyside club holding around 60% percent of the possession, thanks to players such as Jordan Henderson and Adam Lallana, their chances were sure to come.
In the 54th minute, after a Philippe Coutinho free kick bounced against the Swansea wall defending it, Jordan Henderson recuperated the ball and sent it into the box, to his and Liverpool’s delight, Roberto Firmino got onto the end of it and poached in a header from within the 6 yard box.
With the equalizer in the bag, all that was left to do was to put in the winner for Reds.
With Swansea sitting back and letting Liverpool dictate pretty much every aspect on the game, the second goal was just a matter of when, not will.
