A band that has been together for sixteen years is a band that stays together. Rascal Flatts has been together for sixteen years, and most recently concluded their Rhythm and Roots tour in Reading Pennsylvania. The men brought along Chase Bryant for the show in Reading.

The band announced the tour on March 7th, they brought along special guests Chris Lane and Kelsea Ballerini during their summer shows. Chase Bryant was the special guest for their few fall shows. The band hit 30 cities on the Rhythm and Roots tour which went until the end of September. They added on two shows which consisted of a homecoming concert at Penn State: University Park and a show at the Santander Arena in Reading Pennsylvania.

International Education Week

Rascal Flatts most recent album was released in May of 2014, and since then they have not released any new music. The band is set to release a Christmas album on October 21st. “My Wish” was released 10 years ago, so the band re recorded the popular hit and re released it with a different sound.

Chase Bryant opened up for the band with a 7 song setlist which included his first single “Take it on Back” which was a crowd favorite. Bryant surprised audience members with his upbeat tunes and high energy. Many people did not know of Chase Bryant, but after the show many were downloading his album on Itunes.

Before Rascal Flatts began their set “Uptown Funk” by Bruno Mars was playing and the arena was filled with dancing and singing fans. The music stopped and then the notes of “Summer Nights” were heard and suddenly the curtain came down the there stood the band. The show started off with high energy, everybody was out of their seat and dancing. Even though it was technically fall “Summer Nights” was still a great opening song.

The video screen located behind the band showed animated clips of a summer night at the beach. The bands 16 song setlist consisted of newer music and older, mostly their older music which surprised a lot of fans. A mashup of “Come Wake Me Up, I Melt, and I Won’t Let Go” was performed which brought all of the couples in the room together.

Rascal Flatts also surprised fans with several cover songs including “Purple Rain”, “Open Arms”, “Faithfully”, and “Don’t Stop Believing.” The band never completed a full Journey song though, since they mocked the way that everybody automatically sang along to Journey songs.

After the band sang “Here’s to You” they left the stage, but moments later came back and sang “Me and My Gang” which closed the show.

Fans were surprised with how short the setlist was since Reading was the bands last stop, plus they’ve been together sixteen years and released many albums.

All in all, Rascal Flatt’s had a very successful Rhythm and Roots tour and hinted at new music soon.
