The Millersville women’s volleyball team had a weekend of highs and lows. The team started off their weekend in Johnstown, PA, where the team lost to the Mountain Cats, 3-0. The Marauders performance got stronger as the night went on, with the final scores for each sets ending at 25-14, 25-17 and 25-15. Pitt-Johnstown dominated the net with 40 kills to MU’s 28. Continuing their lead on Millersville, Pitt-Johnstown had the Marauders 6-1 on blocks, and 5-1 in aces. Overall, Millersville committed 23 errors throughout the duration of the game. The Marauders did face the Mountain Cats without Kelsi Ceriani, who was injured in the team’s game against the Shippensburg University Raiders.

On a more positive note, the Marauders finished their season with a 3-0 win against Lock Haven. Overall, Millersville scored 36 kills, 13 of which were scored by MU junior Erin Harman, and 28 of which were assisted by Grace Dawson. The team only committed 14 errors to Lock Haven’s 27, but the Bald Eagles had the Marauders with 7-6 aces. This was a monumental game for the Marauders, who have not had a sweep against Lock Haven in over a decade.

As the season comes to a close, now is the time to reflect on team performance overall. The team finishes with a with a total of 10 wins and 19 loses. The team won all five home games, and finished out the season with 3-10 away and 2-4 neutral games. Since there are no seniors on this years team, each player is expected to return for the following season.
