Millersville’s Women’s indoor track and field team had a successful invitational on Friday in Staten Island, New York.

Several of Millersville’s talented track stars took home titles and placed well in their events. Junior Courtney Ingold, a Lancaster county native, received two PSAC Championships in her 60- and 200-meter dashes. This same race placed third in  Millersville’s program history, was the 10th fastest time in the PSAC this year, and broke her personal best.

Ingold’s 200-meter race was the 4th best in Millersville’s program history and was the 7th among PSAC runners this season.

Being surrounded by division I athletes and still breaking records just shows that the category an athlete is placed in has no regard to their talent.

Sunflower Greene, another Lancaster native, landed on the podium with a runner-up finish. Greene’s shot put mark of 46 11 ¾ was recorded as her 4th top 3 finish this season. This sophomore has a bright future ahead of her with a strong and solid season as an underclassman.

The Fastrack National Invitational was a meet that provided a platform to display the talents of our women’s track team.

Brianna Doherty posted a season best in the 60, and Aniya Gibbs just missed a season best in the 400-meter dash. Her time of 59.50 placed her 18th out of 44 runners. Friday was yet another great meet for the track team.
