Following their opening day victory, Millersville would go on to win the following three games. Millersville defeated Seton Hill, Shepherd and Holy Family. All these games were played at home.They would then lose their next three games to Limestone, West Chester and Indiana, who are all nationally ranked in Division II.

Seton Hill

The Marauders overcame two Seton Hill leads to defeat the Griffins 11-9. Down 3-0 after the first seven minutes, Callie Kavanagh scored off a charging penalty against Seton Hill. With 14:44 remaining, sophomore Nathalie Sell scored her first goal of the season to get the Marauders within one.

Nine minutes of strife would ensue until Callie Kavanagh scored to tie the game at 3-3 following a foul on Seton Hill. The game remained a tie, ending the first half with a 5-5 score. In the second half Millersville broke an 8-8 tie to give the Marauders a one goal lead.

Renee Landis finished the game with a hat trick.

Shepherd

The Marauders extended their winning streak to 3 games after beating Shepherd by a score of 11-3. Millersville outshot Shepard 34-12.

Sabrina Fusco scored Millersville’s first two goals. Kavanagh scored to give Millersville a 3-1 lead. The Marauders would then score five unanswered goals.

Holy Family

Millersville once again outshot their opponent 36-13. Renee Landis had four assists and scored three goals in the win. Her second half assist to Sabrina’s Fusco’s goal shows the offensive chemistry the two upperclassmen have with each other.

A quick start in the first 13 minutes propelled the Marauders to an offensive barrage in the first half. They scored four goals in the beginning of the first half and then go on an eleven-unanswered goal streak.

Goals were scored by Sabrina Fusco, Renee Landis, Kristen Butzner, Sarah Leverentz, Taylor Davis, Jamie Damirgian, and Nathalie Sell. Fusco scored four times in the lob-sided victory.

Limestone

After a 4-0 start, the Marauders would lose their next three games.  Over spring break, Millersville lost on the road to Limestone by a score of 16-6. The loss against Limestone was their first loss of the season. Limestone came into the game ranked 8th in Division II. The Saints came marching in by scoring six goals on Millersville in the first 13 minutes. Nathalie Sell scored her sixth goal of the season to start the scoring for the Marauders.

However, after Sell’s goal, Limestone began to distance the lead away from the Marauders. Fusco would score her fourteenth goal of the season at the closing minutes of the second half. The second half was a repeat of the first half. Four unanswered goals solidified the losing result for the Marauders. Millersville goals were scored by Sabrina Fusco, Jamie Damirgian and Nathalie Sell. All would score two goals each.

West Chester

They returned home the following week and hosted top seeded West Chester who would top the Marauders, 11-6. The loss snapped their 4-game losing streak.

Millersville took an early 1-0 lead from Sabrina Fusco’s goal that occurred within the first three minutes of the game. Renee Landis assisted Fusco ‘s goal. The Golden Rams would tie the game at 1-1 two minutes later.Down 4-1 at the 21st minute, Erin Fagan scored to cut the West Chester lead to two goals. Senior Taylor Davis assisted the sophomore.

However, West Chester would go on to build on to their 5-2 halftime lead. They would go on to score three goals in the first seven minutes of the second half. Millersville’s Callie Kavanaugh and Renee Landis would score to get the Marauders within four goals. However, the Golden Rams would seal any chances of a Millersville comeback with a goal, 35 seconds after Landis’s.

Indiana

Millersville traveled to Indiana to face the Crimson Hawks this past Saturday, losing by a score of 11-9. Indiana was ranked 17th in Divison II going into the game.

Millersville took a 3-2 lead after being down 2-0.

Kristin Butzner scored off of a Marauder charge led by Callie Kavanugh. Sarah Leverentz scored 90 seconds later. Kavanugh would score the go-ahead goal 90 seconds after that.

Millersville would have a 6-4 halftime lead with goals from Sabrina Fusco and Taylor Davis.

Indiana would take a 7-6 lead during the first ten minutes of the second half. Nathalie Sell would tie the game at 7-7 with 18:33 on the clock. Butzner would then score her second goal of the game to tie the game again 8-8.

Millersville’s comeback hopes were dashed away by three unanswered Crimson Hawk goals. Davis would go on to score in the last few minutes to its final score at 11-9.

The team will return home to Biemesdefer Stadium on April 4th against Shippensburg. They look to regain the positive momentum which has led them to become the team on notice throughout the PSAC.
