On May 2, from 5:00-7:00pm, a forum on immigration and refugees will be held at the Ware Center at 42 N. Prince St., Lancaster, Pa.

The forum will be presented by the academic-student working group COURAGE. Select MU students from this group will help run the forum.

The organization COURAGE falls under Millersville’s University Honors College who will co-sponsor this public forum.

The purpose of this panel is to get the conversation started in the local community concerning the relevant issues of immigration and refugees.

MU students and educators will be participating in this panel. Additionally, some individuals from the immigrant and refugee communities will share their stories.

Leroy Hopkins is one significant contributor to the conversation. Hopkins is respected nationally for his work in the area of Afro-German social and historical relations. He is the former chairperson on the Language Curriculum Committee of the College Language Association and the current president of the African American Historical Society of South Central Pennsyvlania.

The event will be open to the public. MU students are encouraged to come out and join the discussion on immigration and refugees.
