For anyone who likes Asian cuisine and bowls Issei Noodle restaurant in Lancaster city is the spot. This little eatery is tucked inside a building at 44 North Queen street. Issei Nooodle serves what they describe as “Asian fusion” cuisine. The options range from pho, to ramen bowls, and small starter dishes. They also serve Thai teas, desserts, and Sake. Prices for the food range from $8 to $13 which makes these meals affordable and worth the amount of food you get for the price.
The wait staff is sociable and responsive to any food requests which makes dining there enjoyable. The restaurant is covered in Asian style décor. The spot may be difficult for first time visitors to find since the entrance is not directly off the street but down a small hallway inside the establishment. However, this feature makes the restaurant feel secluded and cozy.
The food is always delivered hot and quickly, especially the miso soup! The pineapple chicken don-buri bowl is always a top recommendation if you are visiting Issei for the first time.
Overall, Issei is a great option for college students looking to have a dinner out with friends and not break the bank. The restaurant is fairly small, so if you’re looking to bring a large group making a reservation would be best. Since Issei noodle is located near the heart of the city its easy to walk around after dinner to other local stops. Plus, parking in the city is free after 6!
The restaurant is closed on Sundays and Mondays, open 10 to 9 Tuesday through Thursday, and 11 to 10 Friday and Saturday. There is also a location at 54 West High street in Carlisle which is open Tuesday through Saturday from 11 to 2:15 and again from 5 to 8:15.
