Millersville University women’s track and field opened their season with a bang at a Diplomat Invitational at Frank and Marshall University. The Marauders competed in the 2018 NCAA Division II indoor meet on Saturday December 1st and won the NCAA qualifying marks in Saturday’s match. Highlights from this match start off with senior Sunflower Greene who helped abbreviate Millersville by winning the events at the invitational. In the weight throw, Greene broke a record for Millersville and PSAC with a NCAA qualifying mark of 63-7. She won by throwing the disk 10 feet.

Another memorable highlight in this match is how five Marauders finished in the top 10 in the 60. Marauders; Destinee Holloman, Emonie Reviere, Gabriela Karch, Lenaiya Flowers, and Brianna Doherty all had a marvelous performance for Millersville and have also made record breaking accomplishments.

First Destinee Holloman and Emonie Reviere both won PSAC qualifying times with Holloman time of 7.94 and just behind Holloman is Reviere’s tie of 7.95 in the 50 meter dash. Freshman Gabriela Karch (8.11) finished fourth in her first collegiate competition. She was placed second in the event which earns her a spot in the PSAC Championships as well. Sophomore Lenaiya Flowers ran a personal record and PSAC qualifying time of 26.31 in the 200 meter dash. Brianna Doherty placed fourth in the long jump with a PSAC qualifying jump of 17-3 1/2.
