The beloved food truck announced its comeback to bring the students of Millersville the fried food they deserve.

The truck will reopen on Wednesday afternoon, March 27, and students are eager to line back up. The truck will be serving mouth-watering specials from 11-2 p.m every Wednesday next to Hash-Bassler.

This grand reopening was sparked by student disappointment about it being closed, but also by the very influential Instagram account, @mufoodtruck. The account has been consistent in asking and pleading for the truck to come back, and used memes and the hashtag “BringMeBack” in their campaign.

Ultimately, the account gained notoriety and responses from Dr. Daniel Wubah’s official Instagram account, @villepresident. In one instance about asking if the school administration planned on bringing it back for students to enjoy, Wubah replied “We are working on that.”

Evan Thames, one of the creators of the @mufoodtruck Instagram account, said that “social media really helped blow this whole thing up… The Instagram account helped a lot because the people who want it back have a place to express their love for the food truck.”

But some have expressed bad feelings towards the food truck returning, citing that it’s just another thing students are paying for or it’s just a “greasy van.” But many students are excited for its return, including Thames.

“For people who are hating on the food truck is just stupid. It’s literally another way for students to get a quick lunch or late night meal. I think it’s the greatest thing ever it helps so many students in between classes and late at night too.”

The food truck team is looking for workers to join their team. MU student Brittany Walker posted on Facebook that “we’re still looking for students to be apart [sic] of our team, if you’re interested, you can pick up an application during lunch!”

The food truck has confirmed they will be around every Wednesday for the rest of the Spring semester.
