A lot can happen in a year and new Track Coach Scott Weiser is finding that out.
After joining the Millersville track team as the assistant coach in January, Weiser worked under Coach Andy Young and helped to create a name for Millersville track on a national level. After he joined the program the Marauders sent the largest group of outdoor track athletes to the PSAC championships in the teams recent history. . . .
First-year Head Coach Todd Roberts hoped the Millersville wrestling team could start their season on a positive note. As an assistant coach last year, Roberts watched the team struggle to a 5-11-1 finish. Now the team is putting that in the past and is on their way to making people forget all about last season, and they’re doing it by focusing on pins. . . .
The Millersville women’s basketball team set a school record on Nov. 6, when they outscored Columbia Union by 71 points.
The largest margin of victory prior to this game was 66, in the 1992-1993 season.
Four players reached double figures on the score sheet, and the defense held Columbia Union to only 29 points. . . .
In their first meet of the season, the Millersville wrestling team showed there is reason to believe that maybe this year will be better than their last.
Four Marauders placed at the East Stroudsburg Open last Saturday. This is quite an improvement after only one Marauder placed in the same event last season. Head Coach Todd Roberts felt the result will give them a boost going into their conference schedule.

The Millersville Men’s Basketball Team never trailed on Saturday, beginning with a short jumper in the paint 17 seconds into the contest as junior guard Jason Blake put home the first Millersville basket of the 2008-2009 season. Following the make the Marauders turned on the cruise control keeping Penn State Abington in their rear view for the rest of the day as the team opened their season with an 80-51 win against the visiting team. . . .
