Cross country team hosts Alumni Open

The cross-country team immediately got back to work as the Fall 2010 semester began. The team spent the first Saturday of the semester in Millersville Borough Freedom Memorial Park where the Alumni Open was held.

The Alumni and Friends team competed against current Marauder cross-country runners in the event.

Adam Mallory, class of 2009, finished ahead of all other alumni, edging out graduating class member Chris Ecker by just seven seconds.

Track spring opener showcases hometeam talent

Last weekend, the university track team welcomed other area competitors to their 2010 spring opener.
The home turf seemed to have a positive impact on the team. In only their third outdoor meet, numerous athletes performed admirably, and 14 team members had top five finishes.

Track and Field travels to North Carolina for 49er Classic

For two days the men and women of the Millersville University track and field teams competed in the 49er Classic in Charlotte, N.C.

In the 5,000 meter run, both sophomore Elicia Anderson and junior Jared Kneebone had impressive showings. Anderson took second in a field of 50 runners with a time of 17:29.97. Kneebone’s 15:27.63 run put him in 27th place out of more than 70 competitors.

Indoor Track and Field attends PSAC Championships

On the last two days of February, the Millersville men’s and women’s track and field teams competed in the PSAC Indoor Championships.

Although Saturday was mostly a day spent qualifying for races that would occur the next day, the men’s team came away with 10 points and the women earned one.

Track and Field has excellent performance at Bucknell Winter Classic

Men’s and women’s indoor track and field competed at the Bucknell Winter Classic on Saturday, Feb. 13. After setting several school records last meet, Millersville students had an impressive act to follow and they left quite a mark yet again. Kim Stokes tied the school record at the pole vault, with a height of 3.05 meters. The Millersville University team left Bucknell with many of our own students qualifying to compete in the PSAC championships.

On Feb. 6, men’s track and field traveled to New York City for the New Balance Invitational for their seventh meet of the season. Schools from Division I, II, and III competed in the Invitational event.

The Millersville men’s relay team had a great day. Senior Anthony Adamski, sophomores Keith Ogder and Jack Sacnlin, and freshman Chris Jackson ran the 4×400 meter relay with an impressive time of 3:22.75.

MU track hosts PSAC East Challenge

The Millersville men’s and women’s track teams had several players step up on both teams and put on a show for the home crowd as they hosted the PSAC East Challenge on Saturday.
