Millersville University has hired Ethan Hulsey to be the new Sports Information Director.
Hulsey took the position because he wanted a chance to exercise his own ideas in an athletic department featuring a lot of changes.
“I saw there was a lot of potential here,” Hulsey said.
Hulsey has been on the job since July and his experiences have been positive thus far.
His top project so far has been working on a new website for the athletic department (www.millersvilleathletics.com).
The website, which he says the University is “putting a significant amount of money” into, sports an improved appearance as well as the addition of videos, coach and student-athlete blogs, photo galleries, and video interviews which will be important for advertising to recruits and providing a great fan experience.
Hulsey’s duties will include conducting the interviews with players and coaches following games.
He is confident in the University’s dedication to progress for the whole department, not just the new and improved website.
“Peg Kauffman and everyone involved want Millersville University to have a top-notch athletic program,” Hulsey said.
Hulsey has been impressed early on with the fall sports teams, particularly both the men’s and women’s soccer teams.
“A lot of teams have new coaches and have young teams that are going to take some time to grow,” Hulsey said.
Hulsey spent two years as a graduate assistant at Shippensburg and another year at Mercy Hurst.
He thought this would be a good time to come to a new place and try to make a difference.
