Now you’re whipping out your sweaters, your uggs and your beanies. The leaves will soon begin to change color and the days will be shorter. Nights will be especially cold. Pumpkins will pop up like acne. Pumpkin Spice will become the top selling coffee creamer once again. The season is Fall. It’s comfort weather. But here’s something to think about, after Fall comes a dreadful and miserable season; Winter. If the chill hasn’t gone up your spine yet then consider Winter’s best friend, snow.

That’s right readers, the Earth’s tilt is leaning away from the Sun and we are going to suffer for it. One more thing Mother Nature can shove in our face, am I right ladies? It’s almost cruel. We are tempted by the cool air, a relief from the scorching weather of Summer. But eventually that cool air will be frigid accompanied by an inconvenient form of precipitation. You’ll refuse to leave your warm, welcoming bed. My apologies but I think we can agree on one thing, snow must go.

Who created this substance? What’s is its purpose? Why does it exist? When will it go away and never come back? Where can I go to escape it? Of course I’m not crazy and I do understand snow, for the most part. Snow is formed when temperatures are low and there is moisture in the atmosphere. When the moisture builds up tiny ice crystals collide they stick together in clouds to become snowflakes. If enough ice crystals stick together, they’ll become heavy enough to fall to the ground causing accidents, injuries and even deaths. On a lighter note snow is a great insulator for our soil! That’s all I got. One positive I can think of for snow and that’s it.

To the people that enjoy this weather and find it “majestic” or “enchanting” I think you’re nuts. If you ask me all snow has done is gotten in the way of plans and cause both myself and others to hibernate in our bedrooms during its presence. The cold kills plants and the snow that weighs down tree branches can tear them down and cause accidents.

I know what you’re thinking. You’re thinking that it’s only September and you have nothing to worry about. You’re right, it is only late September and Fall will start officially on Sept. 23, but snow has a way of creeping up on us. If you can remember Thanksgiving last year and you were in Lancaster, Pa. you might recall some snow. In 2011 Philadelphia witnessed snow up to four inches. It’s coming almost like a scary movie. A Mother Nature film being released sometime this Fall, Snow! This time it’s out for blood.
