If you ask college graduates to share the highlights of their academic careers, it’s not uncommon for post-grads to comment on the experiences they gained during internships and experiential learning opportunities. Millersville University’s Office of Experiential Learning and Career Management aims to provide opportunities for students to achieve their personal and professional goals while working toward graduation.

ELCM will be hosting job and internship fairs, with an in-person option taking place on Oct. 7 from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Student Memorial Center and a virtual fair on Oct. 20 from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. via its internship management platform, Handshake.

Employers at the fair will include Clark Associates, Inc., McClarigan CPAs & Advisors, Pennsylvania Office of State Inspector General, Philadelphia Police Department, Sight & Sound Theaters, United Way of Lancaster County, Warfel Construction Company, among others.

“ELCM encourages students to take advantage of [internship] opportunities. Remember, it’s never too early to start making connections,” says Patricia Taggart, management technician at ELCM. “This is [an opportunity for students] to connect with recruiters from corporate, non-profit, and government organizations to discuss a broad range of internship and full-time opportunities.”

In addition to the internship opportunities available to students through ELCM, Millersville has partnered with Parker Dewey to provide micro-work experiences to Marauders.

Parker Dewey is a mission-driven organization that connects students with short-term project assignments. These short-term job placements are known as micro-work opportunities, giving students a chance to develop their skills and experience in a variety of potential careers.
